Fauna.me is a multi-platform application for recording the sightings of wildlife. Originally named after the biologist Carl Linnaeus, this started life as an iPhone application but quickly became on online resource also when it changed it's name to Fauna.me. You can use the catalogue of species to look up information about different species such as their taxonomical classification and their distribution around the world.

By registering with this site for free you will be able to start recording your sightings and trip to gradually build up your own "life list" which will contribute towards the global distribution map which is completely user generated.

Also planned for the near future are native mobile applications for iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and Android with a mobile browser based one also being considered for other mobile devices.
